The Maintenance Leader will oversee our maintenance operations, particularly for our broth and sous vide cooking and packaging equipment. This role is essential in building a world-class maintenance team and ensuring operational efficiency. Essential Duties
- Manage the activities of the maintenance department and collaborate with the Production Manager to schedule preventative maintenance.
- Partner with leadership to build and implement a full maintenance program, including preventive maintenance schedules, SOPs, inventory systems, and documentation practices.
- Assist in setting up and managing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)Β to track work orders, PMs, equipment history, and spare parts.
- Help organize the maintenance shop β label and track parts, establish inventory levels, and ensure tools and supplies are easily accessible and maintained.
- Support the creation of detailed equipment lists, maintenance schedules, and operational procedures across all critical systems.
- Perform and oversee mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and installations of production and facility equipment.
- Act as a daily point of contact for the maintenance team β assign work orders, support team members, and ensure consistent documentation of work performed.
- Monitor equipment condition and identify areas of risk; assist in developing strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Promote and enforce safety practices and help train staff in proper equipment use and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure maintenance needs align with production priorities.
- Build and lead mechanical and preventative maintenance teams to maintain production equipment, optimize line efficiency, and manage parts inventory.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to enhance production methods, equipment performance, and product quality to increase efficiency.
- Maintain accurate time and maintenance records.Β

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- 3β5 years of maintenance experience in a production, industrial, or facilities setting,
- 1-2 years working as a lead on a team.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, and pneumatics.
- Electrical experience working with low and high voltage equipment.
- Experience organizing maintenance documentation, logs, and records β ideally through a CMMS or similar tool.
- Proven ability to bring structure and organization to a maintenance program thatβs still being developed.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills β able to lead by example and work across departments.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset β comfortable managing projects, identifying needs, and taking ownership.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
- A valid Driverβs license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Required to use hands and fingers to operate a variety of objects, tools, equipment, vehicles, and other motorized equipment.
- Stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, bend, walk, reach and crouch.
- Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
- The job may require climbing ladders or moving around in tight spaces.
- Use specialized equipment ranging from pressure washers to painting tools, and they should wear appropriate safety gear in such situations.

The position is based in our Oakland and San Leandro plants. Occasional travel as needed for inspection of equipment and/or training.Β
