POSITION SUMMARY: The Rentals Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overall service readiness of company-owned and customer equipment. This role ensures that all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for rental by managing service operations, personnel, inventory, and vendor relationships. The Service Manager plays a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime, supporting customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the repair, maintenance, and service scheduling of rental and customer equipment.
- Organize and maintain yard operations, including equipment status (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down).
- Prepare and coordinate work schedules to meet customer demands and ensure equipment availability.
- Oversee and dispatch service calls as needed.
- Inspect and evaluate equipment before and after repairs, maintenance, and rentals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment condition, service history, and operational status.
- Create, update, close, and bill work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Order, track, and manage parts inventory to ensure adequate supply levels.
- File and manage warranty claims in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure equipment meets company and safety standards.
- Commission and integrate new equipment into the fleet.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors to understand maintenance requirements and capabilities.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical support to service technicians and mechanics.
- Handle and resolve customer complaints related to equipment performance or condition.
- Promote and enforce safety awareness and compliance across all service operations.
- Manage disposal of solid and hazardous waste materials in accordance with regulations.

Generate and analyze reports, including:
- Equipment uptime/downtime
- Open work orders
- Warranty claims
- Parts inventory and usage
- Service department financial performance
- Purchase orders
- Technician productivity (paid vs. worked hours)
- Collaborate with operations, rentals, and leadership teams to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service needs as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Experience: 2-3 years of equipment rental coordination experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
Computer Skills: Advanced
Certificates & Licenses:
- Valid driver's license
- Completion of company and customer required safety training
