Rolf and Daughters is a service‐driven restaurant located in Nashville, TN. We focus on natural wines and contemporary, nourishing food that is reflective of the seasons. We aim to be the neighborhood place that is sought out by locals and world travelers alike.
We are looking for a Sommelier to join our FOH team and work alongside our Wine Director. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of classical and adventurous natural wines. Our program features many small wine farmers from around the world; each with a commitment to organic or biodynamic agriculture and employing a minimal interventionist approach in the cellar to create wines of place and character. The style of wineries in our program range from classical stalwarts (Dujac & Clape), to iconoclasts (Philippe Valette & Christian Tschida) and innovative producers (Milan Nestarec & Emmanuel Lassaigne). We drink it all and are looking for someone who’s love of wine affords them a broad and inclusive perspective on the notion of world class wine.
Qualifications & Abilities
- Fine dining experience in a role tasked with wine service, cellar managing and/or wine buying.
- Extensive wine and spirits knowledge
- Ability to communicate about the wines in an approachable style
- In-depth knowledge in locally-sourced and high-quality food ingredients
Sommelier Responsibilities
- Receiving wine orders
- Supporting FOH managers in all aspects of dinner service
- Monthly inventory
- Cellar management
- Continued education of the wine program before and during service
- Accompanying the Wine Director during on and offsite tastings.
