Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with preschool standards and curriculum frameworks
- Lead classroom activities that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies to create a respectful and engaging learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and special education strategies including early intervention approaches
- Oversee daily childcare routines such as toddler care, diapering, meal times, and outdoor play to support holistic child development
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments, standardized testing results, and lesson plans to track progress and inform instruction
Skills/Qualifications
- AAS/Bachelors in ECE/CD
- Extensive experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings with a strong understanding of childhood development principles
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored for early learners, including literacy education, math instruction, and physical education
- Knowledge of special education needs, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques suitable for diverse classrooms
- Proven classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and independence
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols including first aid and CPR certification
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori methods or other innovative early childhood teaching approaches
- Experience working with standardized testing processes and implementing assessment tools for preschool-aged children
