Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, materials handling, and order fulfillment.
- Manage inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ensure accurate stock counts through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Coordinate warehouse distribution efforts to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to foster a collaborative environment.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize workflow.
- Operate forklifts and other mechanical equipment safely for heavy lifting and materials handling tasks in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Oversee shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring proper documentation via systems like AS400 and adherence to logistics protocols.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in warehouse operations with a strong background in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain functions.
- Prior experience as a warehouse supervisor or lead role demonstrating team management skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse management system SAP
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to make wood crates, experience in carpentry.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to warehousing activities, heavy lifting, and materials handling.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and process improvement initiatives.
