GENERAL SUMMARY:

Roland Park Country School, a K-12 independent girls’ school, seeks a Human Resources Generalist to begin on or about June 1, 2026. The individual in this position reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. Position Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in managing the daily HR operations, including onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management, compliance, training, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will support the CHRO in creating a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with all HR policies and procedures, and contributing to the overall culture and engagement of the school’s staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Onboarding & Offboarding:

  • Initiate and manage onboarding processes for new hires, including HRIS setup and internal systems.
  • Manage benefits enrollment and compliance for new employees.
  • Collaborate with program supervisors to manage onboarding for summer, seasonal, and athletic new hires.
  • Ensure compliance with background check documentation (CJIS, I-9, CPS, MD486, etc.).
  • Oversee the offboarding process for departing employees and initiate COBRA administration

HRIS Management:

  • Manage changes in HRIS, including compensation, status, and job title updates.
  • Coordinate with the Business Office/Payroll regarding any changes.
  • Lead system configuration and set up all benefits lines in HRIS.
  • Ensure all relevant documents (e.g., job offers, position descriptions, certifications) are uploaded to HRIS.
  • Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy and generate reports as needed.
  • Coordinate annual compensation adjustments in collaboration with the CHRO.

Benefits Administration:

  • Implement and manage benefit programs, serving as a liaison between the school and insurance carriers.
  • Communicate benefit options to employees and provide counseling on plan provisions, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Reconcile and audit monthly benefits invoices in partnership with Business Office
  • Manages file feed with carriers. 
  • Work with benefits brokers to ensure smooth operations and keep employees informed of changes to benefit programs.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain reports for HR data analysis in coordination with the CHRO.
  • Manage annual filings, including ACA, EEOC, OSHA, and 403b census, and respond to verification of employment requests and unemployment claims.

Training, Compliance, & Policy:

  • Manage new hire and annual compliance training, ensuring all documentation is uploaded to LMS/HRIS.
  • Regularly audit employee files for compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Assist the CHRO in developing policies for the employee handbook.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Support and guide employees and supervisors through the employee grievance process and performance management.
  • Develop performance management tools and systems in collaboration with the CHRO.
  • Coordinate wellness programs and employee engagement initiatives throughout the year.

Leave of Absence (LOA) Management:

  • Manage the workers’ compensation process for any work-related injuries, including leave of absence requests.
  • In coordination with the CHRO, manage FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, and other leave requests.
  • Maintain LOA data and follow up with employees and supervisors as necessary.

Miscellaneous:

  • Manage the school’s membership accounts with professional organizations (AIMS, NAIS).
  • Coordinate with the business office for any required filings or reports.

COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE: 

In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Additionally, this position includes a comprehensive benefits package and other forms of compensation, including:

Tuition remission available as well as tuition reimbursement for graduate education.
  • Paid time off for full time and full time reduced employees: vacation days (for 12 month employees), sick leave, personal days, winter break & spring break based on school calendar schedule. Flexible summer schedule for 12 month employees. 
  • Retirement plan: 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions (required minimum hours worked after 1 year of service.)

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3 years of experience in human resources management.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, compliance requirements, and benefit programs.
  • Advanced experience in technology and minimum of intermediate knowledge in Excel, Google Sheets, etc. 
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of employees and departments.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in education or nonprofit organizations.
  • Advanced experience managing data within an HRIS (Paycom, iSolved, or similar)
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification.
