ROKAH LLC is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in West Orange, NJ. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and other activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions per established protocols
- Foster independence, dignity, and community inclusion for all individuals served
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation a plus
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnights as needed
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
