We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. We are a multi-story 100 unit senior citizen apartment complex. This full-time position handles a variety of tasks to maintain and repair the facilities and equipment, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the building. Must have experience in general maintenance, possess strong problem-solving and organizational skills and be able to work independently or as a team. This position requires promptness and honesty. Also must be able to work well with staff, outside contractors and with the elderly tenants. Our building is a smoke free building and we are seeking a technician who is smoke free.
Job Duties:
- Under direction of management, maintain the physical condition, cleanliness, and good appearance of Building by performing routine manual work. Including custodial duties.
- Does varied types of plumbing work involved in maintaining, repair, and installation of plumbing fixtures, fittings, and systems.
- Does varied types of work involved in servicing, inspection and repair of electrical equipment, appliances and machinery.
- General carpentry knowledge involved in the layout, construction, repair and maintenance of the building facility.
- Performs work in caring for and maintaining facility grounds, recreational areas and other landscaped and lawn areas and keeps inside and outside areas healthy and visually appealing.
- Performs apartment turnover including the cleaning, sanitizing and painting and apartment to have it ready for occupancy of a new tenant.
- Replace light bulbs, filters and other necessary items as required.
- Maintain and update a record of maintenance work, completed tasks, and inventory of supplies.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests when on call.
- Assist with lifting/moving furniture and other items as needed.
- In all the above instances, the worker will perform such other duties as required and conduct one-self in a courteous manner making every effort to complete an assigned task or job.
- Shared on-call
- Must live within 30 minutes due to on-call
- This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to provide reliable transportation.
Knowledge and Abilities :
- Experience and competence in each of the following trades: Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and grounds maintenance.
- Knowledge of the competent and safe operation of tools, equipment and machinery
