Job Overview

Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Implement crisis management protocols to ensure immediate safety for clients experiencing acute distress or suicidal ideation.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality.
- Engage in case management activities, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams and providing client communication to support ongoing progress.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation, progress notes, and medical records management.
- Offer specialized services such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, pediatric therapy, or services for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and evidence-based practices.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and crisis management to effectively handle urgent mental health situations.
- Expertise in child & family counseling, child & youth therapy, and working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or disabilities.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), medical terminology, and medical documentation standards.
- Experience working with diverse populations across outpatient, inpatient, clinic settings, or telehealth environments; familiarity with telehealth therapy is a plus.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using standardized tools and research-supported methods.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines to ensure patient privacy and ethical practice standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, team collaboration, and documentation accuracy in electronic health records (EHR).
- Competency in behavior management techniques for children with behavioral challenges or developmental disabilities; experience with applied behavior analysis (ABA) is advantageous.
