At Rohde & Schwarz, we provide our customers with extensive post-sales support, training, free technical support, and close personal contact from our engineers out in the field. We’re seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused experienced RF technician to calibrate and repair our test equipment in our lab as well as at customer sites. This is a full-time position based from our US headquarters in Columbia, MD.

The total compensation for this position is $34-46 per hour. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.

Your tasks
- Conduct on-site or in-house calibration and repair of equipment to ensure it meets Rohde & Schwarz’ high standards of performance
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs
- Responsible for evaluation and completion of complex data reports
- Represent the company in a customer support role and be responsible for customer’s satisfaction with equipment and servicing
- Accurately prepare daily logs and reports of work performed, including hours spent and inventory used for each assignment
- Assigned projects are moderately complex, requiring some independent action
- Effectively communicate with customers in a professional business environment
- Coordinate and prioritize daily workload to ensure optimal throughput and on-time delivery
- Lead daily stand-up meetings and provide direction on priorities
- Monitor workflow, backlog, and past-due jobs to maintain service performance
- Coordinate campaign scheduling and complex job structures
- Serve as liaison between service operations, management, and support functions
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex repairs and calibrations
- Mentor and support technicians in troubleshooting and best practices
- Ensure compliance with Rohde & Schwarz technical and quality standards
- Support onboarding and technical training initiatives
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist management by providing performance and workload feedback
- 5 years technical experience
- Understanding of RF concepts and devices
- Understanding of IP Networking and proper network configuration principles
- Experience with Test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, etc is a plus
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
- Can effectively use standard professional software such as Microsoft Office products
- 25%-80% Travel Required, depending on assignments
- Leadership potential, depending on assignments
- Available to support an on-call schedule and respond to on- demand travel for service actions
- Located in proximity to Milpitas, CA for supporting in-house service
- Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds
- External candidates must be current US residents with valid work authorization to be considered
