What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspector, Electric/IT position at Rohadfox Construction Control Services Corporation?

Rohadfox is seeking an addition to our Staff in support of our West Los Angeles Clients’ need, for an Electrical/IT Inspection pro. This individual shall have a thorough knowledge of the methods, materials and techniques of the electrical/IT trade; the ability to diagnose violations and hazards in new and existing electrical/IT installations and take a proactive approach during construction; have a general understanding of low voltage systems including fire/life safety and information technology; have the ability to read and interpret contract documents, electrical codes, applicable standards. Electrical/IT Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, the ability to make decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision, the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, the public and must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Hours 6:00am-2:30pm M-F. Pay rate range starts at $67.67(plus)hr

Professional Licenses & Certification: 


*Candidates must possess a current ICC certification as Commercial Electrical Inspector to apply.

*Successfully hired Candidates must provide Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years and Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years, prior to assignment

*Successfully hired candidates must have LAWA SIDA badge prior to official start.

*Must be able to work any assigned shift - day, swing, or night - as required to meet the contractor’s construction schedule. 


 Minimum Years and Experience:  

 Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have 3 years or more of experience, performing electrical/IT inspections; for task on the Airfield, 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.

 Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  •  Experience at the journey-level as an electrician, with a focus on the installation and repair of electrical systems in public works, institutional, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations on significant construction projects.
  • Involvement in complex projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and city officials.
  • Expertise in identifying and addressing deficiencies, ensuring that all aspects of construction meet the required standards.
  • Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency.
  • A strong understanding of diverse requirements,
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

Minimum Education Level: High school diploma (or equivalent).

Hardware/Software Knowledge 

  • Knowledge of Project Management Information Software used for inspection/document control (i.e., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PM Web, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Computer proficiency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documents efficiently, including change orders, submittals, RFIs, and other inspection documents, with minimal supervision. 

Element-Specific Requirements/Notes

  • May assume other duties as required/needed.
  • May be required to work various shifts, including day, swing, and night.
  • Shall be open to work modified schedules, including nights and weekends, as dictated by the contractors' work activities and accelerated project schedules.
  • Availability to work overtime as required to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks is preferred.
  • Candidates shall have the ability to wear proper Personal Protection Equipment to inspect roof activities, climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must live within commuting distance of West Los Angeles work site
