What are the responsibilities and job description for the Knife Grinder/ Saw Shop #3 position at Rogue Valley Door, Inc.?
Rogue Valley Door is looking to add a Grinding Room/Profile Grinding person to our team. The Grinding Room / Profile Grinding person is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining precision grinding machines used to shape and finish metal components. This role requires a high level of precision and accuracy. Helps maintain a positive team atmosphere by being reliable, approachable, and willing to assist others when workloads shift. Pay is DOE.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficient using measuring tools
- Good computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality of work
- Manufacturing / grinding room environment with exposure to noise, dust, and coolants
- 2-3 years’ experience in precision grinding
- Knowledge of wood species
- Must know how to use a torque wrench properly
- Must be proficient with math, decimals to fractions are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to perform advanced set ups with minimal supervision
- Outstanding work ethic
- Great attention to detail producing high quality work
- Strong mathematical, cad drawings reading and measurement skills
- Have a teamwork/positive attitude
- A knowledge of saw blades, tooth configuration, angles and materials to suit particular task and desired finishes.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking “Safety First”
- Set up/run profile knife grinders
- Face grind to specific tolerances and install inserts
- The use of a comparator to set up tooling
- Free hand on a pedestal grinder
- The use of Darex grinding machine for end mill and drill bits
- Preform precision measurements using calipers and other inspection tools
