Objective
The Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and growth of 4-5 bakery locations within a designated territory (Reston, Arlington, Savage, Columbia, Ellicott City). This role ensures operational excellence, brand consistency, staff development, and profitability across all assigned sites. The Regional Manager acts as the key liaison between store managers and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of 4-5 bakery locations to ensure consistency in quality, service, and presentation.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and food hygiene standards.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive efficiency and uniformity across stores.
Financial & Business Performance
- Review and analyze financial reports for each location (P&L, labor costs, COGS, wastage) to identify areas for improvement.
- Set sales targets and develop strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Manage budgets for labor, supplies, and maintenance.
People Management
- Lead, mentor, and support store managers, supervisors, and teams across all locations.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of store-level staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coach for improvement, and address disciplinary matters.
- Foster a positive work culture and high employee engagement.
Customer Experience
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards across all locations.
- Address escalated customer concerns and feedback promptly.
- Monitor online reviews, ratings, and community reputation for each location.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Support local marketing initiatives, seasonal promotions, and community events.
- Ensure in-store merchandising and displays align with company guidelines.
Inventory & Supply Chain
- Oversee inventory control, ordering systems, and waste management processes.
- Liaise with suppliers and logistics teams to maintain stock availability and quality.
Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular operational updates to senior leadership.
- Maintain effective communication between stores and headquarters, sharing best practices and insights.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in multi-unit retail, food service, hospitality, or quick-service restaurant management.
- Minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory or area/regional management role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, labor regulations, and operational best practices.
- Financial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgets, and KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and/or POS/management software (MarginEdge and Toast experience is a plus!)
