What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at Rogers Ready Mix?
Duties:
- Transporting ready mix concrete from the batch plant to construction sites safely and efficiently, while ensuring the cleanliness of the ready-mix truck.
- Safely load and unload concrete.
- Provide excellent communication with dispatcher and customers.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Perform routine maintenance on the ready mix truck. This includes checking the fluid levels, tire pressure, and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Adhere to company safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Work well independently and as a team.
- Ability to problem solve and pay attention to detail.
Experience:
- 1 year Commercial Driving (Preferred)
- 1 year Ready Mix Driving (Preferred)
Skills:
- Valid CDL Class B - Required
- Clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and route driving preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with client
- Excellent time management skills to adhere to delivery schedules.
- Must be able to sit, climb, push, pull, and lift heavy objects up to 40 pounds..
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Pre-employment drug test is required.
- Must have a valid DOT physical exam card
- An MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required
- Manual Transmission experience preferred but not required
