Skills & Qualification
- A degree in Construction Science or Engineering is preferred but not required
- 5-10 years of experience in ground-up commercial construction, including retail, office, and industrial
- Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera and Procore is preferred
- Experience on projects utilizing technologies like digital plan rooms, BIM, or laser scanning
- Ability to lead preconstruction on potential or negotiated projects
- Strong problem-solving skills to handle project planning and execution challenges
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders
- Supervise Quality Managers, Office Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Assistant Administrative Assistants to ensure project success
- Ensure projects are staffed correctly to optimize efficiency and project delivery
- Plan and conduct estimating handoff and project kickoff meetings
- Assure compliance with pre-planning processes to mitigate risks
- Assist the project team with developing a project risk management strategy
- Analyze and draft subcontracts to ensure clarity and compliance
- Create detailed subcontractor bid tabs to facilitate informed decision-making
- Initiate pre-qualification of potential subcontractors to ensure quality standards
- Collaborate with the Superintendent on purchasing decisions for materials, rental equipment, and forming systems
- Prepare and submit proposed changes to the Owner to maintain project alignment
- Chair weekly project meetings to discuss progress and address any issues
- Prepare monthly billing to the Owner to ensure financial accuracy and transparency
- Monitor progress and maintain the project schedule to ensure timely completion
- Oversee the project safety program to ensure a secure work environment
- Manage project close-out, including preparation of warranties, as-built drawings, and maintenance manuals
