What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Scheduler position at Rogers-O'Brien Construction?
- Regularly visit projects to update job schedules using scheduling software (Primavera P6)
- Generate master construction schedules with input from operational and pre-construction teams, adapting to project-specific needs including standard, cost-loaded, or resource-loaded schedules
- Develop proposal or schematic schedules with minimal input from schematic/design documents for pre-construction or operations phases
- Lead scheduling meetings to ensure master schedule updates, involving subcontractors, suppliers, internal team members, and clients, aiming for weekly updates
- Engage and support the Scheduler/Senior Scheduler in organizing and facilitating pull planning sessions and other schedule-related meetings
- Provide robust support in schedule management, including updates, communication, and development of recovery/delay schedules as necessary
- Provide documentation of schedule adjustments, delays, or accelerations as communicated by on-site personnel
- Generate detailed schedule reports highlighting trade-specific or phase-specific activities as requested
- Assist in the preparation of schedule documentation and historical records within the designated file management system
- Produce detailed reports and schedules by trade, phase, or other criteria as requested by the project team
- Enhance scheduling processes for RO, providing training and clear communication of these processes to employees
- Demonstrate a passion for learning about scheduling principles to identify, document, and communicate potential delays, acceleration options, recovery strategies, and critical task impacts
- Execute a range of complex and confidential tasks autonomously, applying initiative and independent judgment within the framework of Rogers-O'Brien guidelines
- Consistently meet the standards set forth in the competency checklist, showcasing proper execution of required skills
- Comply with all Rogers-O'Brien policies, procedures, safety protocols, and regulations set by governing bodies
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field with scheduling coursework
- Advanced beginner proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Phoenix Scheduling software
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Outlook
- Passion for learning scheduling principles and construction workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with diverse groups
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Constant adequate range of motion and mobility
- Regular sitting or standing, bending, or stooping
