Maintenance Technician

Hourly rate: $24.00 depending on experience
Under the direction of the Maintenance and Facility Manager the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment and general building systems across multiple store locations.
This position involves regular travel throughout the Sarasota metro and surrounding areas to ensure all stores operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Additionally, this position requires travel between multiple convenience store locations and may involve after-hours or weekend work for emergency repairs. The Maintenance Technician will work both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to varying environmental conditions.
What You’ll Do
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, commercial kitchen equipment and electrical components.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and maintain service logs for all assigned equipment.
- Respond promptly to service requests to minimize downtime and maintain store operations.
- Repair and maintain plumbing, fuel dispensers, and other facility equipment as needed.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent, and maintenance tasks completed.
- Assist in energy efficiency initiatives and equipment upgrades.
What We’re Looking For
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing HVAC and electrical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and time management.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record — required for travel between store locations.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Sarasota metro and Fort Myers areas.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
- Availability for after-hours or weekend work for emergency repairs.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of firsthand maintenance experience and electrical systems
- HVAC knowledge preferred
- Convenience store experience highly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical certification in HVAC or electrical preferred
