What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Director position at Rogers Lowell Chamber?
ABOUT THE JOB:
This position plays a key leadership role in supporting the Chamber’s Marketing Communications initiatives to drive engagement with internal and external brand audiences including curating content and producing creative design for all media channels, managing content updates for web and social media and coordinating production for digital assets as required for creative projects and the Rogers Lowell Chamber’s events, programs, sub-brands and destination sales and marketing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptualize, design and implement creative graphics projects on time and on budget.
- Contribute to all technical aspects of desktop publishing for collateral, newsletters, brochures, magazines, presentations, websites, and videos.
- Manage content and design updates to the Chamber’s websites and blogs.
- Assist with pre-production for creative assets including securing/producing sponsor logos in the right file formats, loading digital assets in CRM/CMS and organizing assets in the Chamber’s digital library.
- Support creating content for weekly eNews and sub-brands’ email campaigns. (2 per week)
- Ensure the continuity of Chamber’s branding, style and voice in all communications working closely with the Creative Director.
- Track media trade and other advertising (online and offline) campaigns to ensure advertising support is produced timely and accurately.
- Support the Creative Director with creative design projects including but not limited to: print, digital, web, video, etc.
- Collaborate with Member Services team to produce compelling sales collateral.
- Coordinate internal and external printing projects.
- Organize and maintain design project files.
- Manage project lifecycles from start-work to execution with job tracking tool utilization.
- Stay current on industry best practices for communications and design and maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry changes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Degree in Art, Visual Design, Marketing or Advertising required or related experience
- Experience: Two (2) to five (5) years of experience working:
- In high-traffic, fast-paced environment with quick project turnarounds
- Professional design work, including but not limited to: logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, multimedia production, social media content creation, creative asset and brand management, etc.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.
- Portfolio & writing sample required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Computer Skills: Must be proficient working with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and PremierePro. CRM/CMS and content creation tools preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Basic knowledge of Google Analytics, SEM/SEO/SMM a plus.
- Creativity:Requires excellent marketing communications skills including the ability to write, edit and proof content. Must be adept in social media platforms.
- Critical Thinking:Knowledge of marketing communications, promotions, and graphic design principles required. Must possess above average time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaborate with teams.
WAGE | BENEFITS STATUS | FULL-TIME, ON-SITE POSITION (40 HOURS/WEEK): $50,000/yr commensurate with experience, with benefits.
