Wages starting at $23.00/hr. Overall pay will be determined based on the chosen candidate's experience and skill set.
Oldham County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for our operation located in Crestwood, KY. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery in a rock quarry including dozer, excavator, front end loader, haul truck, and general work around the quarry operation.
- Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
- Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
- Individual must be dedicated to operating safely at all times
- Individual must be willing to perform any task required at quarry
- Must be able to identify and alert management to maintenance issues with equipment
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to compete pre-operation inspection paperwork
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekend when necessary
- Team player attitude
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
