Job Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with company and government health and safety and environmental regulations and policies.
- Operating and monitoring multiple batch or drum asphalt plants.
- Evaluating existing operations for improvement opportunities in planning, processing, equipment utilization, cost reduction, etc.
- Ensuring facilities have resources and support to achieve production objectives.
- Performing preventative maintenance and repairs as well as troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Assisting QC and ensuring mix designs meet customer specifications.
- Distributing material in a timely manner to internal and external customers.
- Maintaining favorable and effective communication with customers both internal and external.
- Favorably resolving customer complaints in accordance with company policy and industry best practices.
- Ordering materials and AC to produce mix.
- Compiling and interpreting reports on plant equipment, maintenance and production.
- Assist Area Manager with planning, budgeting, and P&L.
- Will supervise other employees.
- This position involves communications with both internal and external customers such as subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and senior management.
- 5 years managing batch or drum asphalt plants, including P&L.
- 1 year of experience in customer service.
- Proficient in Minds or similar asphalt plant operating software.
- Capable of demonstrating equipment and troubleshooting knowledge. PLC knowledge strongly desired.
- Proven track record of production efficiency and cost reduction through improved mix designs.
- Working knowledge of the cost and profitability drivers of an asphalt plant operation.
- Working knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and policies.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
- Good organizational, scheduling and time management skills.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Able to work overtime.
