We are partnering with a manufacturing company in Newburyport, MA looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This role will focus on cost accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and month-end close.
Responsibilities
- Perform cost variance analysis and investigate the drivers behind manufacturing variances
- Manage and maintain standard costing processes
- Support and execute the month-end close process
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Participate in and oversee inventory counts
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Analyze manufacturing costs and provide meaningful financial insights to plant management
- Partner with plant leadership and the Accounting team on financial and operational performance
- Identify opportunities to improve cost accounting processes and financial reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4-8 years of accounting experience
- Strong manufacturing industry experience required
- Solid cost accounting experience required
- Experience with standard costing and variance analysis
- Inventory accounting and physical inventory count experience
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Compensation: $110K-$130K plus bonus
