Role Description The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Roebuck, SC, responsible for overseeing daily field operations for landscape construction projects. This role manages job site activities, coordinates crews and subcontractors, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and company standards. The Superintendent monitors quality of installations, including grading, irrigation, plantings, and hardscape features, and proactively addresses issues to keep projects on track. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans, organizing materials and equipment, communicating with project managers and clients, documenting progress, and enforcing safety and environmental requirements. The role also supports team development by coaching crew members, promoting RL’s core values, and contributing to a positive, professional job site culture.
Qualifications
- Experience supervising landscape construction or related site work, including coordination of crews, subcontractors, and daily field operations.
- Knowledge of grading, irrigation systems, plant installation, hardscape construction, and reading site plans or blueprints.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and resources in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to direct teams, collaborate with project managers and clients, and resolve on-site challenges.
- Commitment to safety practices, quality control, and compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
- Proficiency with basic technology tools for project documentation, timekeeping, and reporting; familiarity with construction or landscaping software is a plus.
- Previous experience in commercial landscaping, construction supervision, or a related field; experience in the Southeast region is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform site walks as needed.
