Inventory Control Manager

A growing, multi-site manufacturing organization is seeking an Inventory Control Manager to oversee the movement, accuracy, and integrity of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods across its operations.

About the Role

This role is responsible for ensuring materials flow efficiently from receipt through production and distribution, while maintaining strong inventory controls, safety standards, and operational discipline.

Responsibilities

• Inventory & Warehouse Operations
• Lead day-to-day inventory control activities across one or more facilities, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and proper stock rotation
• Oversee receiving, storage, picking, and internal material movements to support uninterrupted production
• Ensure all inventory locations are properly labeled and maintained within the warehouse management system
• Monitor inventory transactions and workflows to prevent discrepancies or production delays

• Logistics & Material Flow
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling, dock activity, and internal transfers between facilities
• Partner closely with production to align material availability with changing schedules and priorities
• Support both shifts by proactively managing material flow and addressing potential disruptions

• Fleet & Equipment Oversight
• Manage material handling equipment and transportation assets, including vendor relationships, service scheduling, and lifecycle planning
• Review vendor invoices, manage service agreements, and ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant
• Oversee inspections and coordinate maintenance activities as needed

• Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
• Promote a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment aligned with operational and regulatory standards
• Enforce inventory control procedures, including receiving accuracy, FIFO practices, and system integrity
• Investigate incidents involving equipment or property damage, documenting findings and coordinating follow-up actions
• Partner with quality, purchasing, and accounting teams to manage holds, returns, and material disposition

• Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, train, and develop warehouse personnel, including equipment operators and inventory staff
• Oversee certification and ongoing training for material handling equipment operators
• Address performance issues, resolve employee concerns, and partner with HR on employee relations matters
• Drive accountability while fostering a team-oriented, solutions-focused environment

• Additional Responsibilities
• Support special projects such as change management activities, non-stock requests, and product returns
• Monitor labor utilization and work to control overtime within the department

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus
• 10 years of experience in warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing logistics
• 5 years of leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of inventory control practices, warehouse systems, and material flow processes
• Experience with WMS platforms, scanning technology, and standard warehouse automation tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive accountability and influence cross-functional teams
