Position Summary

A growing manufacturing organization in the North Fond du Lac area is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a workforce of more than 115 employees. This is a hands-on, highly visible role responsible for supporting the day-to-day human resources needs of a fast-paced manufacturing operation.

The successful candidate will have 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within manufacturing, food production, distribution, or a similar hourly workforce environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors across the manufacturing facility.
  • Provide daily HR support to a workforce of 115 employees, with significant interaction on the production floor.
  • Communicate HR policies, procedures, benefits, and workplace expectations effectively in both Spanish and English.
  • Support employee relations matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with hourly employees and maintain an approachable HR presence throughout the facility.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, and retention of hourly manufacturing employees.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation and other employee communications in both English and Spanish as needed.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers regarding performance management, attendance, employee relations, and workforce issues.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Support benefits administration, leave administration, workers' compensation, and employee inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll and timekeeping administration and resolve employee questions or discrepancies.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, employee engagement activities, training, and retention programs.
  • Translate or assist with HR communications and employee materials between English and Spanish.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–5 years of HR Generalist or comparable HR experience required.
  • Experience supporting an hourly workforce; manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or distribution experience strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required; must be comfortable communicating directly with employees in both languages.
  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations and general HR practices.
  • Experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, and HR compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels, from production employees through senior management.
  • Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor rather than operating exclusively from an HR office.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll/timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who enjoys working directly with employees and supervisors in a manufacturing environment. This individual should be approachable, practical, organized, and comfortable handling a broad range of HR responsibilities.

Spanish/English bilingual capability is essential to success in this position. The HR Generalist must be able to establish credibility and communicate effectively with both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking employees, ensuring that employees have consistent access to HR support regardless of their primary language.
