What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Administrative Assistant position at Rodey Law?

The Rodey Law Firm is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounting Administrative Assistant in its Albuquerque office. In this role, you will provide essential support to our Executive Director and Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

  • Final review of all spreadsheets for accuracy, checking formulas and totals before distribution.
  • Ability to extrapolate raw data as required.
  • Collate materials for distribution prior to scheduled meetings.
  • Assist with administrative support for the retirement plan including distributing statements and forms, document retrieval, quarterly and annual reporting, and annual audit processes.
  • Assist with organizing a few firm social events.
  • Assist in processing invoices.
  • Provide administrative assistance including filing, data entry, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, as well as legal regulations and requirements.
  • Work closely with other members of the accounting department and administrative staff to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in accounting or finance roles is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Schedule:

  • 7.5 hour shift on-site
  • Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
