What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Ortho Registered Dental Assistant position at Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
- Minimum 1 year dental leadership experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year orthodontic dental assistant experience preferred
- Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with Orthodontist in treating patient
- Instruct patient of elastic treatment
- Making Patient Safety and Team Safety the number one priority
- Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols
- Maintaining and upkeeping digital patient information
- Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
- Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
- Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
- Helping the Rodeo Team maintain office cleanliness and IC protocol
- Mixing amalgam, cement, and preparing impression materials
- Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
- Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
- Placing and cementing bands
- Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
- Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
- Ensures orthodontic team members embrace the perfect appointment and flow
- Point person for orthodontic escalations
- Coaching, training, and developing orthodontic team members
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
