Job Overview
Rod Jackson Trucking is seeking reliable and safety-focused Intermodal Spotter Drivers to join our operations team. This position will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving intermodal containers on chassis throughout a rail yard using a company owned day cab. Responsibilities
- Operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently
- Position containers and chassis accurately at designated locations
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report equipment defects or maintenance concerns promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, yard personnel and team members
- Maintain and organize yard and ensure a safe traffic flow
- Comply with all federal and state regulations regarding commercial driving and vehicle operation
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with manual endorsement
- Manual transmission is required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 1-year verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Must pass all required background checks and drug screenings as mandated by state and federal regulations
- Ability to stand, climb and perform physical tasks associated with tractor-trailer and container inspections
