Collections Analyst (B2B) | Rockville, MD | Temp-to-Hire
The short version

- Business-to-business collections for a national electrical workers’ benefit fund
What you need
- 3 years of collections experience, commercial or B2B strongly preferred
- You’ve worked aging reports and run a 30/60/90-day outreach cadence by phone and email
- Strong writing. You’ll be corresponding with employers and attorneys
- Organized, detail-oriented, solid in Excel
- Reliable and on time, every day
Nice to have, not required: payroll audit experience, or time at a union benefit fund, Taft-Hartley plan, or third-party administrator.
What you’ll do
This isn’t consumer collections. You’ll be reaching out to businesses, not individuals, and the money you collect goes straight to electricians’ retirement benefits. The fund audits its contributing employers every year. When an audit finds money owed, you take it from there.
- Review audit results and aging reports to decide which accounts to work first
- Contact employers about delinquent contributions and audit findings
- Negotiate terms and set up repayment agreements
- Process incoming payments and keep the tracking database current
- Support the fund’s attorneys on accounts referred for legal collection
- Prepare audit announcement and delinquency letters
Pay and benefits
- $30-$33.50/hr during the temp period, with health insurance, 401(k) matching, and PTO
- $70,000 salary on conversion, exempt
