We are seeking a motivated and self directed Outside Sales Representative to join an established employee owned company that has been in business for more than 55 years. The company is a national distributor and direct marketer of plumbing, heating, hardware, maintenance, and other MRO products serving commercial and institutional customers.
This is a territory based outside sales position focused on building relationships with both new and existing customers. The ideal candidate will be comfortable prospecting for new business, conducting in person sales meetings, demonstrating products, identifying customer needs, and providing solutions that drive revenue. Extensive initial training will be provided at the home office, with ongoing training and support in the field!
Responsibilities
• Conduct direct in person sales with new and existing customers
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling and qualified leads
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
• Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals
• Introduce and demonstrate new products to customers
• Stay current on existing and emerging products and technologies through meetings, sales events, and training
• Address customer questions and recommend appropriate solutions
• Work closely with Sales Management and Support teams
• Complete management reports as requested
• Provide customer feedback to Marketing and Sales Management to support future promotions and initiatives
• Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and industry events as needed
• Travel throughout an assigned geographic territory and occasionally travel overnight
• Use a personal vehicle for business travel
Requirements
• 2 to 5 years of end user sales experience required
• Valid driver's license
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to present and demonstrate products effectively
• Strong presentation and closing abilities
• Self directed, organized, and detail oriented
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with customers and internal teams
• Strong listening, problem solving, and customer service skills
• Ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a field based environment
• Willingness to travel throughout an assigned territory and occasionally overnight
Preferred Qualifications
• Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or related industry experience
• Experience selling technical or MRO products
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience
• Experience managing a sales territory or developing new business
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
