About the Role
As the Senior Vice President of People and Change Management (SVP) and key member of the executive leadership team, you will bring a proven track record of strategic leadership and operational excellence in dynamic, high-change environments. You will champion forward-thinking HR practices, and continuously innovate systems, tools, and processes to meet the evolving needs of a diverse workforce. You will maintain a strong balance of empathy and accountability, remaining accessible and responsive while effectively managing complex organizational challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of HR strategies that align with organizational goals and evolving workforce needs.
- Drive the adoption of modern HR systems and processes to support seamless operations in payroll, performance evaluation, and data management.
- Effectively communicate the value and purpose of HR initiatives to foster organizational alignment and support.
- Serve as both a strategic advisor and a hands-on partner to the executive team and the Board of Directors when necessary.
- Support professional development strategies that strengthen the collective skills of our team and set them up for success in achieving goals and objectives.
Culture, Equity, and Inclusion
- Champion justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts across the organization.
- Ensure all HR practices are inclusive and designed to foster a workplace where every employee feels valued and heard, even during difficult conversations.
- Actively support culture-building initiatives that reinforce RMPM’s mission and values.
Employee Relations and Policy Development
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers, addressing day-to-day issues and providing direct guidance and problem-solving support.
- Lead the creation, refinement, and implementation of practical HR policies and procedures.
- Proactively manage and resolve complex employee relations matters with discretion and care.
Change Management and Organizational Development
- Lead and support organizational change efforts with a thoughtful understanding of their impact on culture and community.
- Build consensus, set clear expectations, and foster accountability to achieve strategic priorities.
- Support affiliate sites by balancing local needs with organizational goals, offering both guidance and hands-on assistance.
- Help people see the “why” behind a change initiative through nuanced communications and partnership with front-line managers as needed.
- Partner with the Executive Team on internal communications strategies that build understanding and alignment across the organization on key topics that require change management.
Minimum Qualifications
Collaborative, Hands-On Leader
- A strategic thinker who thrives in a roll-up-your-sleeves environment.
- Experienced in all facets of human resources, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, and compliance.
- Adept at translating big-picture strategies into actionable plans that produce measurable results.

Experience and Qualifications
- At least five years of senior-level HR leadership experience in complex, dynamic organizations.
- Demonstrated success in driving organizational change and embedding inclusive practices.
- Experience in nonprofit or public media environments is a plus, though not required.
