We are only considering candidates who have completed or are currently attending a psychedelic guide or sitter certificate program. We require all candidates to provide information about the specific psychedelic guide/sitter program they attended or are attending to be considered.

You must currently live in Colorado for consideration. We require an in-person interview as part of the hiring process.

Who we are: Rocky Mountain Mind and Body is an integrative psychiatric practice that combines traditional psychiatric medication management services and Ketamine therapy to offer a full spectrum of treatment options for people suffering mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders. We are one of the first specialty clinics in Colorado to offer IV Ketamine infusion treatment surpassing 16,500 infusions working with adolescents as young as 13 to adults. Our mission is to educate and provide exceptional care tailored to each individual's unique needs.

Who you are: You are a dedicated and compassionate individual with specific training in psychedelic guide work, ready to provide trauma-informed care in a safe, non-judgmental environment. With a deep passion for harm reduction and psychedelic therapy, you understand the importance of holding space for patients in altered states, knowing when to support them actively and when to quietly listen. You are reliable, discrete, and uphold patient privacy and confidentiality, ensuring every interaction reflects empathy and respect. Your experience with meditation, breathwork, and integration techniques allows you to support patients both during and after their sessions. Above all, you are open-minded, kind, and excited to be a crucial part of a team committed to providing exceptional care.

TRIGGER WARNING: Working with suicidal patients, and trauma and PTSD patients, holding space for and having responsibility to support these patients may be triggering for some people. Please be honest with yourself about this aspect of the job before applying.

Job responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive presence for patients
  • Understand and apply trauma informed harm reduction techniques for people in altered states, and grounding exercises and be willing to continue your education to improve this skills annually
  • Provide breath-work and meditation techniques for patients who require it and be willing to continue your education to improve these skills annually
  • Sit with, monitor, and hold a supportive space for patients during treatments as needed
  • Understand and apply post treatment integration strategies and techniques and be willing to continue your education to improve integration techniques annually
  • Follow all protocols and procedures for psychedelic sessions, in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines
  • Assist patients with wheelchairs when arriving and/or leaving the clinic
  • Aid patients to and from the restroom when needed.
  • Must be able to lift and seat patients into and out of wheelchair as needed
  • Work with the entire RMMB team to ensure every patient has a positive experience during their visit
  • Assist with and perform telehealth preparation sessions to prepare new patients for the Ketamine experience and treatment. (training is given)
  • Accurately document patient interactions in the EHR (electronic health records) system.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work environment.
  • Turn over treatment rooms between treatments (restock supplies, sanitize and disinfect surfaces)
  • Adhere to all PHI/HIPAA/OSHA/Infection regulations and protocols.
  • Agree to wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed
  • Commit to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of psychedelic therapy
  • Plan, prioritize, and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction and maximum accountability
  • Maintain a professional appearance (business casual- no tank tops, shorts, crop tops, etc)
  • Maintain professional courtesy toward patients, family members, other healthcare providers, and clinic staff.
  • Perform other clinic and administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned such as answering phones, checking in patients, taking payments, scheduling, for backup as needed.

This role will interact with patients, families, other caregivers, healthcare providers, and other clinic staff on a regular basis

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:

In order to perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to meet and perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability and/or experience required.

  • Psychedelic sitter or guide trained - required
  • High School Diploma or equivalency (GED) required
  • Associates degree or higher education - preferred
  • 1 year of prior patient care- preferred.
  • Must be reliable. We schedule patients 6 to 8 weeks out at a time and must know how many sitters/guides are working to effectively schedule treatments. Reliability and dependability are extremely important and required
  • Must be open minded to our entire patient population. We require the utmost respect and privacy for all our patients and staff.
  • Must Be LGTBQ friendly, required
  • Must be calm but assertive and show professional discretion in all circumstances
  • Must maintain professionalism and be the calm strong nervous system in all circumstances required
  • Maintain professional boundaries and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software and the ability to learn electronic medical records required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate with patients, family members, other RMMB staff, as well as medical staff in a kind, compassionate manner.
  • Ability to impress patients with your empathy, compassion and kindness

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Employment is contingent on the successful completion of pre-employment background check, and reference check. Required
  • You must have reliable transportation. Required
  • Proof of current COVID vaccination status required
  • Provide psychedelic guide/sitter training certificates or documentation showing you are in a current program- Required

Working Conditions:

  • This role is clinic based and requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is low. It will require the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to lift and seat patients into and out of a wheelchair as needed.

Flu and COVID-19 Precaution(s):

  • Personal protective equipment provided and required as needed
  • Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place
  • We require all staff to be vaccinated for Flu and COVID
  • RMMB will pay for annual vaccinations and boosters

Job Type: Full-time- Summer and early Fall in Clinic hours 8:00am-6:00pm Monday through Thursday and every other Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm. Fridays remote work for telehealth preparations and integration sessions. Also an occasional Saturday group therapy retreat usually 9:30am - 3:30pm. Fall and Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with an occasional Saturday group therapy retreat usually 9:30am - 3:30pm.

Starting hourly base wage: $24.25/hr plus benefits. Review with potential raise after 90 days of initial employment and successful training period if all new hire criteria are met.

Benefits paid for full-time (eligibility for FT benefits must work min 32hrs/wk)

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) accruing at 0.065/hour worked 1st year of employment. .085/hr accrual rate 2nd yr
  • 6 paid holidays per year (New Year’s day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor day, Thanksgiving, Christmas day)

  • Annual continuing education reimbursement for psychedelic guide education($1000) eligible and reimbursed after working 6 months 1st yr. $1500 2nd year
