POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently searching for a Fulltime Surgical Technician for a multispecialty ambulatory surgery center specializing in Bariatric Surgery/Weight Loss Surgery, Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma Procedures, General Surgery, GI procedures, Podiatry, Urology, and Orthopedic Surgery

The ideal candidate is committed to the mission of providing safe and effective patient care through cooperative work with staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

· Verify operations of the equipment to ensure in good working order. Assist with position and preparation of the patient.

· Prepare surgical suite with instruments, equipment, and supplies

· Hand instruments to the surgeon during procedures. Account for number and location of instruments and supplies.

· Receive and process specimens

· Sterile processing of equipment

· Assist with supply inventory

· Apply and enforce principles of sterile technique throughout surgical procedure, maintain sharp safety, ensure medication safety on the surgical field, competence in surgical counts, anticipate surgeon's requests on assigned surgical procedures.

Requirement Qualifications

· Minimum Experience: graduate of a Surgical Tech program

· State Surgical Tech registration

· BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

· Demonstrated ability to handle complex and at times stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications

· 1 year experience working with multiple medical specialties. Experience with eye procedures a plus.

· Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

· Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment.
