LANDSCAPE MATERIAL SALES ASSOCIATE

Overview

In this energetic role, you will provide expert guidance on a wide range of landscape materials, including, mulch, soil, and decorative features. Your enthusiasm for outdoor spaces, rock products and customer service will drive sales and ensure clients leave satisfied and inspired. Duties

• Assist customers in selecting landscape materials such as soil, mulch, stones and supplies by providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs.
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions, handle cash and credit payments, and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and merchandise products to create an inviting shopping experience that highlights seasonal items and best-sellers.
• Identify various landscaping materials to educate customers on their uses, care requirements, and benefits.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales area and outdoor display zones to ensure safety and visual appeal.
• Communicate effectively with customers via phone or in person to answer questions about products or services while demonstrating excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Previous outdoor work experience or familiarity with landscape materials and maintenance, is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of landscaping materials.
• Experience using POS systems, cashiering skills, retail math proficiency, and cash handling expertise.
• Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
• Demonstrated organizational skills for stocking, merchandising, and maintaining product displays.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
• Passion for outdoor environments combined with a proactive attitude toward sales and customer engagement.

Additional Assets:

· Bilingual language skills are an asset.

Retail Sales Associate Physical Requirements:

· Ability to bend at the waist to reach within 6" of the ground.

· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds individually, or 50 pounds with another employee's assistance.

· Ability to reach overhead.

· Ability to stand, sit, walk, balance, stoop/crouch for long periods of time.

· Frequently required to reach with hands, arms, legs and feet.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 50 hours per week
