Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), a global leader in the design and manufacturing of world-class, award-winning roller coasters and rides, is seeking an experienced Business Development Professional to lead sales growth throughout the Asian market while managing select customer accounts in North and South America.
This position represents RMC's complete portfolio of rides, engineering services, and aftermarket solutions. The ideal candidate is an accomplished relationship builder with international business development experience, an understanding of diverse cultural and business practices, and a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives focused primarily on expanding RMC's presence throughout Asia.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through industry research, networking, trade associations, and market intelligence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers at all organizational levels—from maintenance and operations personnel to executive leadership and ownership groups.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts throughout Asia while supporting assigned key accounts in North and South America.
- Lead the development of customer proposals, including coordinating technical, commercial, and financial content to deliver compelling, competitive, and accurate project proposals.
- Collaborate with customers and RMC's engineering and design teams to develop customized ride solutions that meet client objectives and customer requirements.
- Establish, develop, and manage an international network of independent sales representatives and channel partners throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute domestic and international trade shows, industry conferences, customer events, and sales meetings, including logistics, budgeting, booth planning, marketing coordination, and post-event follow-up.
- Represent RMC at domestic and international trade shows, industry conferences, in-person & virtual customer meetings, and networking events to strengthen brand awareness and generate qualified sales opportunities.
- Develop regional sales campaigns, promotional materials, digital content, and other business development initiatives that support market growth.
- Continuously improve sales processes by implementing best practices and utilizing customer feedback to enhance the customer experience.
- Conduct Voice of the Customer (VOC) research to identify market trends, improve existing products, and inspire future ride innovations.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer activity, proposal status, and opportunity pipelines using the company's CRM system.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to achieve annual sales objectives, profitability goals, and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of RMC's products, engineering capabilities, manufacturing processes, and service offerings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of successful business development, international sales, or account management experience.
- Experience selling capital equipment, engineered products, manufacturing solutions, industrial systems, or large-scale commercial projects is preferred.
- Demonstrated success developing business within Asian markets; experience working with distributors, agents, or international partners is highly desirable.
- Experience developing customer proposals, responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and coordinating cross-functional proposal teams for complex projects is preferred.
- Experience planning, organizing, and managing sales travel, trade shows, industry conferences, customer events, and marketing initiatives is highly desirable.
- Background or experience in the construction, engineering, manufacturing, mechanical, or amusement industries is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, relationship management, and business development skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultures and business environments.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage sales pipelines, customer relationships, and forecasting.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, operations, and executive leadership to achieve business objectives.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Asia, with additional travel to North and South America as business needs require.
- Travel is expected to be approximately one week per month on average, with flexibility for longer trips based on customer and project requirements.
- Position is based in Hayden, Idaho.
