Are you passionate about developing the next generation of professional pilots? Rocky Mountain College is seeking an experienced, motivated, and collaborative Chief Flight Instructor to lead flight training operations within our growing FAA Part 141 collegiate aviation program.

This is a full-time, 12-month position offering the opportunity to shape the future of one of the region's premier aviation programs while mentoring students and flight instructors in a professional, safety-focused environment.

The Chief Flight Instructor serves as the instructional leader for Rocky Mountain College's FAA Part 141 and Part 61 flight training programs. This individual is responsible for ensuring training quality, regulatory compliance, instructor standardization, and student success while serving as the primary liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on instructional matters.

Working closely with the Director of Aviation and Director of Flight Operations, the Chief Flight Instructor will help lead a dynamic flight training organization dedicated to excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

• Manage all FAA Part 141 Training Course Outlines (TCOs) and Part 61 training programs.
• Supervise and mentor Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) and ensure instructional standardization.
• Ensure students successfully complete the certifications and ratings required for graduation under FAR Parts 61, 91, and 141.
• Fulfill the responsibilities of Chief Flight Instructor and Chief Ground Instructor in accordance with FAA Part 141 regulations.
• Serve as the primary instructional liaison with the FAA.
• Assist with:
• Flight safety and Safety Management initiatives
• Curriculum development and continuous improvement
• Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and revision
• Aircraft scheduling and operational coordination
• Personnel staffing, mentoring, and evaluations
• Crisis management and operational leadership
• Communication between students, instructors, and Flight Operations leadership

• Bachelor's degree
• Meet FAA Part 141 qualifications for Chief Flight Instructor
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII)
• FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

$90,000 – $110,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
