Looking for a Personal Injury Attorney to join our Gladiators in Suits!

Title: Attorney

Hours: Full-time position

Schedule: What it takes to get the job done! It’s trial work.

Salary: Set salary plus bonus depending on your level of skill and experience.

We’re looking for a aggressive, competitive fighter who’s passionate about helping real people and unafraid of big business, insurance companies, or the courtroom.

From the beginning, Rocky McElhaney Law Firm set out to be a different kind of PI firm. We put our clients and our staff first. We hired hard-working attorneys motivated by integrity and driven by a passion for helping others. We built a culture of smart, innovative, compassionate people who care as much about each other as their work. As a result, we’ve been voted Best Attorney in Nashville for the last 11 years by Nashville Scene readers and selected by the Nashville Business Journal as one of Nashville’s Best Places to Work since 2013. We’re growing fast, opening new offices, adopting new technologies, and setting trends. We’re looking for someone with experience in personal injury law, a passion for their work, a sense of humor, and a desire to be a part of a firm where talent, friendship, respect, and laughter abound.

You’ll know you’re a good fit if…

  • You’re tired of being part of a settlement mill where the focus is on mediation and settling even when your client deserves more.
  • You want strong compensation with a bonus plan, quality benefits, room for growth, and management that recognizes and rewards hard work, legal talent, and good client experiences.
  • You’re a trial lawyer who is comfortable in a courtroom.
  • You’re a people-person who excels at building strong relationships with clients.
  • You’re not looking for a short-term gig. You want a long-term position at a firm that rewards loyalty and makes you never want to leave.
  • You believe everyone deserves equal respect, regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation, level of income, or job title.
  • You’re looking for a role that will allow you to change lives.

We’ll know you’re a good fit if…

  • You have a license to practice law in Tennessee, and your license is in good standing.
  • You have at least 4 years of experience practicing personal injury law. The more years, the better.
  • You’re comfortable using case management software.
  • You have a knack for organization, details, and meeting deadlines.
  • You’re a self-starter who’s likely to take personal initiative to get things done.
  • You value integrity and protect the confidentiality of client and company information.
  • You care about our mission and are excited by the opportunity to be a part of a company dedicated to helping people who’ve been hurt.

  • What would I be doing every day?

As an Attorney, you would report to the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Executive Officer. You would have a dedicated paralegal and legal assistant. You will work with medical records coordinators, subrogation specialists, and intake specialists employed by the firm. Your day-to-day duties would include, but would not be limited to, the following:

Working a full caseload and providing excellent personal injury law services to clients

    • Following the firm’s standards of practice while making independent decisions on your cases on a day-to-day basis.
    • Taking effective statements from clients and third parties.
    • Educating your clients about the phases of a case and working to manage their expectations and needs.
    • Preparing and training your clients in best practices designed to help them perform successfully during depositions and court appearances.
    • Providing direction and guidance to your paralegal.
    • Cultivating strong relationships with your clients and their family.
    • Performing weekly reviews of active cases.
    • Analyzing case-specific legal issues and documentation.
    • Reviewing cases for filing.
    • Preparing briefs for motions and filings.
    • Attending necessary depositions, mediations, and court.
    • Litigating cases that go to court.
    • Cultivating professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
    • Demonstrating leadership by exemplifying the firm’s values.
