What are the responsibilities and job description for the English Teacher - Middle School - Niceville campus position at Rocky Bayou Christian School?
We are looking for an English Teacher who loves working with Middle School Students!
Job Description: The teacher will help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. Teach all subjects assigned in the designated grade, adhering to the course instruction as prescribed in the curriculum guide. Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities. Employ a variety of instructional aides, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
Required Personal Qualities:
- A strong, clear Christian testimony, acknowledging Jesus Christ as Savior, and seeking to live as His disciple.
- Must be a member/regular attender at a local Trinitarian church.
- A demonstrated acceptance without reservation of the Rocky Bayou Christian School Statement of Faith.
- A mature, Godly spirit that desires spiritual growth as evidenced by his/her prayer life, Bible study and spiritual outreach to others.
- A Christian role-model (Luke 6:40) in attitude, speech, and actions towards others. This includes being committed to God's biblical standards for sexual conduct.
- Must enroll any school aged children in Rocky Bayou Christian School or other approved Christian education venue.
- Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education course provided by Rocky Bayou Christian School.
Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in English or Secondary Education or a Bachelors degree that includes 18 semester credit hours in English. Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education requirement. Demonstrate proficiency in the computer programs used in classroom. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and database software. Ability to use technology in lesson plans, such as projector, iPads, and online videos. Proficiency in Promethean boards desired.
