We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Application Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys solving complex application challenges, collaborating with customers and internal teams, and supporting projects from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Application Design
Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate pump and wastewater solutions.
Design and size pumping systems, including selection of pumps, motors, and motor starting equipment.
Integrate associated components such as valves, piping, seals, instrumentation, and automation systems.
Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and mechanical system requirements.
Evaluate and verify bills of materials for accuracy and completeness.
Review engineering and manufacturing drawings to ensure technical compliance and feasibility.
Project Coordination
Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for proposals, submittals, and installations.
Support project lifecycle activities from quotation through delivery and commissioning.
Customer Interaction & Support
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and partners.
Assist with troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance optimization of pumping systems.
Communicate repair status and technical needs for pumps received for service or overhaul.
Serve as a technical liaison between customers, consultants, and internal teams.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
OR
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience specifically in pump applications, wastewater systems, or fluid handling solutions.
Experience
Working knowledge of pumping equipment, valves, and fluid handling principles.
Familiarity with electric motors and motor starting equipment.
Experience working in or around manufacturing and repair shop environments.
Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms.
Skills
Strong understanding of hydraulics, fluid dynamics, and pump sizing methodologies.
Ability to review and analyze bills of materials and engineering drawings.
Proficiency with CAD software and pump selection tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation for pump control.
Experience supporting municipal or industrial wastewater projects.
Familiarity working with consulting engineers to provide factory information, drawings, performance curves, sizing support, and responses to technical inquiries.
