A growing heavy-duty fleet service company is hiring a Director of Road Service to lead and expand its mobile diesel and trailer repair operation across New England.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands both the shop floor and the business side of service operations. If you’ve managed technicians, built strong service teams, handled customer accounts, and know heavy-duty diesel and trailer repair inside and out — this could be a major career move.
We’re looking for a hands-on leader who can help scale a road service operation the right way.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day road service operations across NH, MA, and ME
- Manage and develop road service managers and technicians
- Help recruit, hire, and grow the service team
- Oversee mobile diesel and trailer repair operations
- Review service calls, invoicing, labor capture, and billing accuracy
- Work directly with ownership and senior leadership on growth strategy
- Build relationships with fleet customers and key accounts
- Coordinate road service truck procurement, setup, and deployment
- Improve technician training, safety, and operational efficiency
- Help expand service coverage throughout New England
Required:
✔ Leadership or management experience in diesel service, fleet maintenance, or road service
✔ Strong heavy-duty diesel and trailer maintenance knowledge
✔ Experience managing technicians or service operations
✔ Understanding of labor efficiency, service profitability, and operational performance
✔ Experience with service writing, invoicing, or repair order review
✔ Strong communication and organizational skills
✔ Comfortable using shop software, dispatch systems, and technology platforms
Preferred:
✔ Road service or mobile maintenance leadership experience
✔ Experience growing or scaling service operations
✔ ASE certifications or OEM training
✔ Experience with telematics, dispatch, or fleet management systems
Compensation & Benefits
