Classic Car Mechanic / Porsche 928 Specialist (Private Collection)
Location: Greenwich, CT (Relocating to Bethel, CT within 6 months)
Pay: $80,000 – $125,000/year
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30AM–5:00PM
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
This is not a repair shop.
You’ll be working on a private collection of classic and vintage cars—no customers, no service writers, no flat-rate pressure. Just quality work on high-end vehicles, done the right way.
We’re looking for an experienced mechanic who knows older cars inside and out, especially European models and Porsche 928s.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and restore classic and vintage vehicles (pre-1990)
- Perform engine rebuilds, driveline work, suspension, and brake systems
- Work on carburetors, mechanical fuel systems, and non-computerized vehicles
- Handle Porsche 928 maintenance and restoration:
- Timing belts & water pumps
- V8 engine rebuilds
- Transaxle and driveline service
- Electrical troubleshooting (wiring, ignition systems)
- Source hard-to-find parts or fabricate when needed
- Document work and keep projects organized
What You Bring
- 5 years of experience as a mechanic, restoration tech, or classic car specialist
- Strong experience with engine rebuilds and older mechanical systems
- Ability to diagnose issues without relying on modern scan tools
- Comfortable reading manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with European cars (Porsche, Mercedes, etc.) preferred
- Porsche 928 experience is a major plus
- Fabrication or welding skills are a bonus
- Valid driver’s license
