Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) 4 x 10 hour Shifts Friday-Monday

Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. We are looking for a skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values high-quality patient care, and enjoys working collaboratively with a supportive veterinary team.
This position is ideal for an RVT with strong technical skills, particularly in anesthesia, sedation, venipuncture, and patient care.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Four 10-hour shifts
- Friday through Monday
Responsibilities
- Monitor anesthesia and sedation for surgical and diagnostic procedures
- Perform accurate patient assessments and monitoring throughout procedures
- Place and maintain IV catheters proficiently
- Perform venipuncture, including cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood draws
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Perform diagnostic imaging and patient positioning
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
- Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and preventative care
- Assist with patient recovery and discharge instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
- Previous veterinary hospital experience
- Strong sedation and anesthesia monitoring skills
- Proficient IV catheter placement
- Strong blood draw and venipuncture skills
- Excellent patient restraint and animal handling abilities
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hospitalized and critical-care patients
- Knowledge of anesthetic protocols and patient monitoring equipment
- Experience with in-house laboratory equipment and diagnostics
- Dental and radiology experience
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software
