Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Representative to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems. The Patient Care Representative will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate patient information is documented.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and manage documentation review.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and others for efficient record-keeping.
  • Support the administrative team with clerical duties such as filing, typing, and data entry.
  • Coordinate care plans and assist with patient intake processes.
  • Handle medical scheduling efficiently to optimize office workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to create a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is essential.
  • Proficient in EHR systems; experience with Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Nextech, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with 10 key typing is beneficial.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are required.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
