About the Role
Rockledge Christian School is seeking a joyful, Christ-centered Part‑Time Music Teacher who will guide students in discovering their God‑given musical abilities while meeting Florida state standards for music education. The ideal candidate will cultivate a classroom environment where students feel safe to explore rhythm, melody, instruments, and vocal expression, all while learning to use their gifts to glorify the Lord.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, age‑appropriate music lessons aligned with Florida state music standards.
- Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into instruction, classroom culture, and performance opportunities.
- Introduce students to foundational music concepts, including rhythm, notation, vocal technique, and basic instrumentation.
- Prepare students for school programs, chapel performances, and special events.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming, and well‑managed music classroom.
- Assess student progress using clear, standards‑based criteria and communicate growth with grace and clarity.
- Collaborate with school leadership and teachers to support school‑wide events and creative projects.
- Model Christ-like character, professionalism, and a heart for ministry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field (required).
- Teaching certification preferred; willingness to work toward meeting state requirements is acceptable.
- Experience working with children in a school, church, or ministry setting.
- Strong classroom management rooted in consistency, respect, and grace.
- Commitment to the mission, values, and statement of faith of a Christian school.
