Senior Research Analyst

Rockland Trust is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to join our Investment Management Group.

We are seeking a Senior Equity Research Analyst to lead coverage of the U.S. Large Cap Technology and Communication Services sectors, providing deep fundamental analysis and differentiated investment ideas that drive portfolio performance.

This role offers a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of technology innovation and investment strategy—translating complex industry trends into actionable insights within a collaborative, intellectually rigorous environment.

Key Responsibilities:

As a senior member of the research team, you will take ownership of sector coverage, partner closely with Portfolio Managers, and contribute to firmwide investment strategies.

• Sector Leadership:
• Lead coverage of the U.S. Large Cap Technology and Communication Services sectors, developing in-depth knowledge of industry dynamics, competitive landscapes, and key secular themes such as AI adoption, cloud transformation, digital platforms, and next-generation connectivity.
• Idea Generation & Alpha Creation:
• Identify and evaluate compelling stock ideas that align with long-term investment objectives. Deliver well-supported, alpha-generating recommendations based on fundamental analysis and forward-looking insights.
• Deep Fundamental Research:
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, forecasts, and valuation frameworks. Assess company strategy, management quality, and industry positioning to inform investment decisions.
• Strategic Collaboration:
• Partner with Portfolio Managers and senior investment leaders to shape portfolio construction and contribute to broader equity strategy discussions.
• Mentorship & Team Development:
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence, intellectual curiosity, and collaboration.
• Thought Leadership:
• Contribute to the bank’s market commentary, thematic research, and client-facing materials, showcasing insights into the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
• Cross-Functional Support:
• Support asset allocation, risk modeling, and manager selection efforts as part of a broader investment strategy team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or CFA designation strongly preferred
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in fundamental equity research, preferably with direct coverage of the Technology and/or Communication Services sectors
• Demonstrated ability to generate differentiated, alpha-producing investment ideas
• Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and financial statement analysis skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; adept at conveying complex investment theses clearly and persuasively
• Proficiency in Bloomberg, FactSet, and other research platforms
• Strong intellectual curiosity, integrity, and passion for financial markets
• A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment
