Direct Supervisor: Commonwealth’s Attorney
Primary Work Location: Office setting
Physical requirements: This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
Certification: None
Job Summary: Process files for attorneys, answer phones, assist office visitors
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential duties:
- Assist attorneys with case preparation
- Aid in preparation of the next day’s court dockets each afternoon
- Process files using case management software and return case files to their respective attorneys in a timely fashion
- General filing
- Digitally scan files for storage
- Transport inter-office mail and court documents between various agencies in downtown Harrisonburg
- Answer phones and assist office visitors
- Perform other functions as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney
