SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Recording Clerk provides service to the public and clerical support to the Registry of Deeds Department.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Recording Assistant provides customer service for the Registry of Deeds Department through abstracting specific information from recorded land documents for grantor/grantee indexes, providing copies of recorded instruments to the public, and assisting the public in locating recorded instruments. Further, the Recording Assistant provides clerical support by documenting/processing recording fees, cashing out the register at the end of day, answering and directing phones, and other clerical functions such as typing, filing, copying, and faxing.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Duties require knowledge of office procedures equivalent to completion of a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one year of related experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
