Summary
Performs intermediate technical work preparing, transferring, and maintaining real estate and tax records and files, checking data for accuracy, assisting the public and other departments and agencies, and related work as apparent or assigned. Research estates for parcel transfers, collections, and foreclosures. Examine deeds and create new accounts for property owners. Provide customer service for land record calls, Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Tax Appraisal Supervisor.

Examples of Duties
Research estates for parcel transfers. Review obituaries for deaths of county residents and establish estate files.
Communicate with taxpayers and other professionals to inquire or provide information needed.
Create specialty maps for other county and city department’s needs. Research taxpayers’ and other professionals’ requests for information. Respond to customer inquiries and calls.
Enter new owner information for estates created and establish new accounts for estate transfers.

Physical Requirements of This Position
Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met

Minimum Qualifications
License or Certification Requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
- Certification as a Property Mapper or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
