Buyer Coordinator PT for Purchasing Dept

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the coordination of Corporate purchasing. Communications with related vendors and competitive pricing for the Purchasing Division. Must acquire knowledge of all aspects of the department keeping in mind our number one objective is to service our customer. This position reports to Director of Purchasing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a working relationship with both stores and vendors.
• Assist Director of Purchasing and Purchasing Manager with the issuance purchase orders to both vendors and stores based on requisitions, enter purchase orders into our system.
• Assist in the maintenance of purchasing retail support system, including cost, retail, and company-wide inventory management. Support efforts to drive down total cost and reduce lead times.
• Monitor retail inventory levels and assist locations in identifying slow moving inventory.
• Review gross margins on a regular basis and update costs as needed for retail sales.
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy in pricing and terms, follow-up on discrepancies.
• Research new products and specifications with both existing and new vendors.
• Perform both vendor and product research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
• Coordinate and manage companywide Lot Tracking program.
• Assist in the maintenance of purchasing inventory filing systems, including vendor and retail feed tag files.
• Source promotional items to feature in advertising, social networking, and other special events. Assist in marketing and advertising.
• Maintain and produce reports as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

1. 2-3 years of experience in purchasing in sales or Ag related business, previous retail experience preferred.
