Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting findings according to care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
- Perform thorough cleaning duties to uphold a hygienic and comfortable living environment, including laundry and general housekeeping tasks
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plan instructions, ensuring accuracy and safety in medication management
- Support residents with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia by implementing specialized routines and engaging activities
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, or nursing assistant certification are advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when necessary
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and supporting residents’ social and emotional needs
