We are seeking a Clinical Assistant to join our team!
Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to the Clark and Madison County communities.
The organization is looking for an individual to join the team to assist in maintaining the efficient flow of patients through the clinical area. This individual can be trained to prep the patient for the visit by obtaining vital signs, medical history, list of current medications, any allergy issues, and finding out the main reason for the patient visit. You will enjoy the benefit of a 4 ½ day work week working alongside a great team at the Rocking Horse!

Position Info:
Position Title: Clinical Assistant
Primary Service Center: Springfield, Ohio (South Limestone Location)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Hourly Position
Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Education Requirements:
High School diploma or GED is required
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
Previous experience in a patient care setting is a plus
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
2. Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Competency/position requirements:
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
1. Must possess a current driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
Language skills:
1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
2. Ability to write simple correspondence.
3. Ability to effectively communicate information one-on-one and small group situations to patients, families, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
2. Ability to compute ratios and percentages.
Computer skills:
1. Knowledge of basic office computer applications and database software including electronic health record systems.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
1. Regular and continuous physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting of patients.
2. Employee must possess the ability to speak, listen, and see including close vision, distance vision color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
3. Employee may be required to work extended periods of time at a video terminal display.
4. Exposure to virus, disease and infection from patients in the working environment will occur.
5. Employee may experience challenging situations in working with patients from various social, economic, emotional, and/or ethnic backgrounds, with some having experiences including neglect, abuse and/or trauma.
6. Employee will be scheduled based on operational need.
